And here they are:
Thermoception:  Ability to sense heat and cold. Thermoceptors in the brain are used for monitoring internal body temperature.
Proprioception: The sense of where your body parts are located relevant to each other.
Chronoception: Sense of the passing of time. Your body has an internal clock.
Equilibrioception:  The sense that allows you to keep your balance and sense body movement in terms of acceleration and directional changes.
Magentoception:  This is the ability to detect magnetic fields. Unlike most birds, humans do not have a strong magentoception, however, experiments have demonstrated that we do tend to have some sense of magnetic fields.
Tension Sensors:  These are found in such places as your muscles and allow the brain the ability to monitor muscle tension.
Nociception:  In a word, pain.  This was once thought to simply be the result of overloading other senses, such as “touch”, but it has it’s own unique sensory system.  There are three distinct types of pain receptors: cutaneous (skin), somatic (bones and joints), and visceral (body organs).

They might pull a Beyonce on the third season. There will be 14 episodes and even better behind the scenes video. Maybe even bloopers of Rinn kisses… this is what I’m telling myself to sleep at night

11 photos that prove tigers have a softer side
July 29 is International Tiger Day, a holiday that raises awareness of their endangered status and advocates a global system for conserving their natural habitats.

While tigers are known for their striking stripes, massive size, barbed tongues, razor sharp teeth and predatory instinct, it’s also important to recognize how cute and lovable they can be. Here are just a few photos demonstrating the gentle side of these beautiful creatures.

See all the photos.

Some of those photos are really problematic and do nothing to help tigers. In fact, they are detrimental to tiger conservation.

The first is obviously the white tiger being bottle fed. White tigers are extremely inbred and serve no conservation purpose. It’s such a problem that the AZA bans zoos from breeding them. Due to inbreeding white tigers also suffer from a multitude of health problems. Also have to wonder about the context of why it’s being bottle fed and not with it’s mother. I really hope that isn’t a photo from a cub petting scheme as that’s a whole other problem.

Secondly there’s an image of a tiger with a very young orangutan. Why are these two together? I get a feeling that photo may have come from the deplorable T.I.G.E.R.S organisation which massively exploit their animals for publicity and profit and do nothing to help conservation. These two species are natural enemies and should never be together, even when young. It is highly unethical and there is simply no need for it. That cub also looks extremely young and shouldn’t be away from it’s mother unless absolutely necessary.

I love playing Brienne of Tarth because, when I was growing up, I didn’t really see people on television that I felt that I could identify with. Women all looked kind of a particular way, women characters that were popular, anyway. And when I had the opportunity to play this part, it made me explore the parts of myself I had hidden from. I had very long hair. I wanted to look very feminine, really tall. (x)

Anonymous said: That Meryl Streep quote on Scorsese made my life. But the comment on Tarantino made me confused on how I should feel about Tarantino films. Do you think there's a multi-faceted way to consider that issue, and still like his films while remaining critical of him?

of course you can still like something that’s problematic, because honestly, if you were gonna only like things that weren’t problematic you would literally have nothing left to like.

just be aware, and call it out, and listen to the people affected by it; as you said, remain critical.

and maybe download it rather than spend your money on it.

but seriously, i’m not an expert on this stuff, there are far better critical thinkers on tumblr than me!
